Saints Adrian and Natalia

Today on the Julian Calendar is the Feast Day of Saints Adrian and Natalia. These Saints of the Church were a young married couple when Adrian, a pagan, came to believe in Christ through watching the perseverance in faith of a group of Christian martyrs. During their torture he announced that he also wanted to be called a Christian. He was imprisoned and tortured along with the other martyrs. His wife, Natalia, who was secretly a Christian, came to St. Adrian in prison and tended to his wounds. St. Natalia witnessed her husband's martyrdom and lived the rest of her life in piety ultimately giving her soul to God peacefully. A brief life of these inspiring Saints can be read here along with a Hymn of Praise written in their memory.
